This is a water intake pumping vessel that pioneered the use of 2×1,000 MW units in China. Its overall design, manufacturing, on-site installation and commissioning, and finally its successful completion, acceptance and handover to the user were all accomplished by a single company from Liling – Hunan Zhongda Energy-Saving Pump Industry Co., Ltd.
High-efficiency Energy-saving Water Pumps for "Zhu Dian Hao"
"Building a water intake pumping vessel to power a megawatt-class generating unit is a first in China, with very high technical requirements and construction standards," explained Yin Fang, the project leader of the "Zhu Dian Hao" water intake floating vessel. The project team overcame technical challenges one by one, ultimately achieving independent design and construction of the entire vessel. The advantage of the floating vessel lies in its independence from water level fluctuations, enabling it to stably extract mid-level water, ensuring a stable and clean water supply. The vessel connects to the shore via a single DN900 vertical rocker-arm water pipe, using a universal joint to flexibly adapt to water level fluctuations, precisely meeting the massive daily cooling water demand of 79,200 tons. Beyond its robust construction, the "Zhu Dian Hao" also boasts a smart "digital brain." "The ship's control system uses a PLC+DCS design, enabling unattended operation and remote control. Even in the event of a sudden power outage, the system can still maintain operation for 30 minutes," Yin Fang told reporters. These high-standard designs allow the floating vessel to operate stably and reliably on the Xiangjiang River.
As the manufacturer of the "Zhu Dian Hao," Hunan Zhongda Energy-Saving Pump Industry Co., Ltd. started in Chashan Town, Liling, and has been deeply involved in the industry for over 20 years, growing into a specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprise in Hunan Province. Currently, the company covers an area of 53,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of nearly 3,000 water pumps. It holds over 20 utility model patents in shipbuilding and water pump design, as well as 5 computer software copyrights, including a water pump control system and a remote monitoring system for water intake pump vessels. Its services cover energy, mining, metallurgy, petroleum, chemical, urban construction, and farmland irrigation.
In the future, we look forward to more Liling-made products sailing towards a broader future amidst the wave of new energy system construction and high-quality economic development!
